My husband has traveled around the world. Ok, not completely around the world but to many more places than myself. Although he has been many places, there is still much more of the world that he has yet to see.
When he was 19 he got a job with an airline. With nothing tying him down he took advantage of the perks that this job provided. He would hop on a plane just to go somewhere for the day. These were often trips within the United States. Other times he would take a few weeks off and go overseas. At that time, flights had more open seats that allowed stand-by passengers to get seats on the flight. He would travel as much as he could. Sometimes this would lead to a significant amount debt. If that was the case, he would then work as much as he could when he returned to pay it off.
My story is a bit different. My family was able to do some traveling when I was a child but more of my traveling came after I left home and met my husband. In my youth we visited places in the US, went on a Caribbean cruise, and I went on an educational trip to Australia. My husband has helped me see that there is so much of the world to see. My list of future destinations continues to grow, one day I will make it to them all…I hope!
